Q1. With more surveillance cameras set up all around the place would make it a lot more safer and crime rate would drop as the police could witness the crime on the spot and rush to the place to prevent it from happening any further. Also, making the system 24/7 makes it very efficient as night crimes are also being captured if occurred.

Q2. However, with this surveillance cameras all set up, people could not do things in private and as such results in a lack of privacy. it would be very weird for dating couples to get watched as they walk along the streets and cannot have some peace for themselves.

Q3. If Singapore were to adopt this type of method of keeping us safe that would definitely lower the crime rate but more people will have to work night shift and the police will have to watch every screen in the control room for any accident that happens. As Singapore is a small country, this system would be even more effective than the America's system. However installing surveillance cameras would cost money and with the economic downturn this would not be such a good idea at all though but having this system will definitely help many of us irregardless to the fact that our privacy will be impacted.

Q4.  As mentioned in my answer to question 1, privacy may be important to others as they may not be able to do things like going out on a date with confidence as many cameras are watching them and it may be quite disturbing. But on the other hand, if it can lower the crime rate and make us safe, why not install it? If this system was set-up earlier, MAYBE Mas Selamat may have been caught earlier and everyone would not have to worry about him on his plans to do something that would kill many. Although couples are the ones that would get their privacy invaded the most, in irony this might safe Singapore from becoming a terrorized country.
