Well, the things that I hold most dear and would protect are my family and friends. Without these people, I might not be typing this text anyway. Well, the reason for protecting family would be they had been there as long as I existed in the world. They had gone through thick and thin with me and I am grateful to that always.

My friends are also worth protecting. They have provided me the environment to have experiences and I know they always there to support me in what decisions I have to make.

These are people have built my character and nurture my aspects in life. These are the people I want to protect.

The last thing I would protect is my country’s culture and uniqueness. The country has provided millions with the environment of peace and kindness of over 43 years. This country has also played a part in contributing to building ourselves and we are adapted to its uniqueness. Our “Singlish” has been one of the many that made up our Singapore culture; therefore I would protect that culture.

Everyone got their own to protect, well this is what I will protect.

I agree with you that our country has done a lot for us, giving health care and defense. Well, the country has blessed us and we are in debt. That's the reason people want to protect, so that we are not indebted. To protect we need the strong favoritism for our country, in other words, being patriotic. That would be the real reason we would protect.
